The Bristol Cider House is a pub featured in the Cider Pub Guide to Bristol.

The Bristol Cider House is located between Portland and Brunswick Squares and has real history having gone back to its cider house roots. The original Georgian building 200 metres from Cabot Circus oozes old world charm and fabulous ciders.

Open Mon-Thurs 5-11 Fri, Sat and Sun 12noon til late.

About eight ciders on draught at any one time and countless in bottles, eg Broadoak, Crossman, Thatchers and Black Rat cloudy, as well as industrial ciders Stowford Press, Thatchers Gold and Pear Cider. Old Bristolian completes the list but at 8% only sold in halves.

Real ciders £2 Pint 10% discount with valid NUS card.

Food is rustic to its core with farmhouse stew, soup, ploughman's and Gert big baps its speciality.

  • Review 1: An ailing wine bar tries to re-invent itself (re-discover itself?) as a cider house, to attempt to capture a recessed market, and perhaps it will work...Discount with NUS card, so clearly aiming on getting the students in. The Crossmans cider isn't bad and £2 a pint you can't complain. There is an upstairs area with outside terrace (small) for smokers. The real cider is poured from large wooden barrels behind the bar - not sure how well the cider will keep up there in the summer.. Rather too many vinegar flies around for my liking tho...
