Lovely village pub with a reputation for good food, and a good range of real ales from smaller breweries. Real cider in the summer only.

Corby

Another Northants licensee with a strong commitment to local beers, and also a local cider. The guest cider is usually from Westons range, but Roadkill for Eve Dry Cider (6.5%) features when available.

Gretton

Thriving village local with a good range of (mostly Greene King) real ales. Westons Old Rosie from a bag-in-box in the Summer. Patio garden to the rear. Participates in the Welland Valley Beer Festival in June.

Thatched village local, tastefully refurbished, and with a good reputation for food. Beers always include a local choice and the Hatton is the local tap for the Great Oakley Brewery. Rockingham Forest Cider is available throughout the Summer. Regular music sessions, occasional beer festivals, and one of several pubs which take part in the excellent Welland Valley Beer Festival in June.

Kettering

Fairly typical Wetherspoon in the heart of the town. Westons Old Rosie in the chiller cabinet, plus some bottled including Koppaberg and Magners.

Good estate pub selling Westons Old Rosie. A little way out from the centre, but handy for Wickstead Park. A beer festival is held in August.

A popular ale house, in a pleasant village on the edge of Northampton. The guest cider/perry is from a wide range supplied by Northampton wholesaler AleExpress.

Middleton

Village local with a strong commitment to local ales and cider. Up to four real ales, including regulars from the nearby Great Oakley Brewery, Potbelly, Nobbys etc. The draught Rockingham Forest Cider is made in the village, and is available throughout the Summer. Participates in the Welland Valley Beer Festival in June.

Naseby

Traditional village local which serves a wide range of real ales and Westons Old Rosie. Listed in the current GBG. Unusually it serves no food, but no objection if you bring your own sandwiches to eat. Don't confuse with the Fitzgerald Arms just up the road.

Northampton

Smaller than average Wetherspoon, though no less lacking in character! A couple of Westons boxes in the chiller cabinet.

Situated just off the the main pedestrian shopping street. Wide range of real ales, live music. An occasional real cider, usually Thatchers Cheddar Valley.

Tiffield

A Thatchers draught cider on handpump, plus some bottled Thatchers.

Welford

  • Wharf Inn, Welford Wharf, Welford, Northamptonshire, NN6 6JQ, (01858 575075) (actually just on the Leicestershire side of the border!)

Canalside pub, and now the only pub in the village. Popular with boating folk, locals, walkers, cyclists and folk passing on the A5199 (formerly the A50). Westons Old Rosie available from the box. Pub has a “Midsummer Madness” weekend in June, with 4 ciders and 2 perries in 2007, as well as 24 ales. Food also available – see website.

Wellingborough

Currently selling Westons Old Rosie (normally on handpump) and Vintage (in a polypin in the fridge). Plus 4 or 5 decent bottled ciders. A typical Wetherspoon pub.

Woodnewton

Village local Now reopen under new management. Serves quality food and drinks.
