About Killerton Cider
Cider has been made by National Trust wardens on the Killerton Estate in Devon since the early 1990s. The apples are grown free from chemical fertilizers and pesticides and come mainly from five estate orchards. Varieties include Killerton Sweet and Killerton Sharp which originate from the estate. The apples are hand-picked and pressed on site in early October by the wardens and volunteers using a traditional farm press.
Killerton, near Broadclyst, is a 6,400 acre farming estate boasting 52 acres of traditional orchards.
They are stocked with more than 600 trees growing 100 different varieties of English apple, including the Killerton Sweet and Killerton Sharp which originate from the estate.
The apples are grown free from chemical fertilisers.

Killerton Cider & Apple Weekend
Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 October 2012, 11am-5pm.
Enjoy two days in the orchard celebrating national Apple Day and old Devon customs. Throughout the weekend there will be stalls, apple-crafts, hot food, live music, children's activities, an orchard trail and a juggling magician.
Witness Killerton's 200 year old giant hand-cranked cider press in action, have a go at harvesting apples for next season's cider and taste the fruits of labour at the Killerton Cider Bar. The outdoor bar will serve the estate's own award-winning medium dry cider by the glass and bottle. Visitors can enjoy free tasters and a special Apple Weekend offer, and also bring their own garden apples to be pressed, pasteurised and bottled by the wardens, and the fresh juice can be taken home on the day.
