Orchard Reserve
From Ukcider
Orchard Reserve is a new 'traditional' cider produced by Gaymers - the second-largest cider company in Britain, better known for Dry Blackthorn. It is described as "Single Orchard Cider".The label reads as follows:
- Gaymers Orchard Reserve (medium dry, 6.8%, 2005)
- Stewley - Single Orchard Cider
- This vintage single-orchard cider is sourced from our award winning orchard at Stewley, in the heart of Somerset. An exquisite example of the cidermaker's art, the apples from Stewley have been carefully blended to give a round, mellow, rich fruit flavour. 6.8% vol, 75cl. Special Release.
- (back) A medium dry cider with the characteristic flavour of Somerset cider apples delicately balanced to compliment a range of good food, cheese or to drink on its own. Best served chilled. Medium dry cider - contains sulphites.

Tasting notes
The cider is surprisingly pleasant for a Gaymers/Taunton product, tasting rather like an uncarbonated Stowford Press. Perhaps a little one-dimensional and inoffensive compared to a real cider from an independent cidermaker, but an enjoyable drink nonetheless.
Found in Co-op stores, Sainsbury's and Morrisons, Feb 2007.
