Thatchers Katy Rose Cider
From Ukcider
Thatchers Katy Rosé Cider is a bottled cider produced Thatchers at Myrtle Farm in Somerset.
About
Thatchers Cider introduced this new style of cider in 1999. It is crafted in Somerset from English Katy apples and is a product aimed at the female market.
Katy Rosé takes its characteristic blush from the colour of the apple, the result is a soft, pink cider that has the appearance of a rosé wine, but the light and fruity taste of a contemporary cider.
Katy Rosé is 5.4% abv, lower than the traditional Thatchers Katy (which is 7.4%), and packaged in a wine-style 750ml flint bottle. Its RRP is £3.79.
Thatchers have said that due to the ongoing demand a further ten acres of orchard are being planted with Katy trees this spring, however, it is not known if this "demand" is due to their Katy Rosé cider.

- The missus picked up a bottle from the local petrol station thinking i'd like it.... it pours bright pink for gawd sake! It tastes appley but is odd, its very sweet at first, a bit like those apple sweets you used to be able to buy from the sweet shop, then it has a dry, dull aftertaste. Its ok and i'm drinking it, but it's not the best i've tasted and not the best that Thatchers do. CiderMike 16:43, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
