About
Up to 5 ciders on at anytime - ie' westons, solway, wilkins, ross, sarah's and has 2 cider festivals in a year. Tyne and Wear Cider pub of the year three years running.
The Cumberland Arms sits high above Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley and enjoys a fine city-wide panorama.
Recently completed the introduction of four en suite bed-and-breakfast rooms.
“We’ll also have 26 ciders and perries – we’ve had 101 different ones this year alone and that’s no mean feat. But we don’t sell the bottled, fizzy-pop stuff; most of our customers come in for good cider and if we see someone drinking Guinness or lager we’ll suggest they try something similar from our range of real ales, something with flavours and textures. This old girl has got to be somewhere people want to come and enjoy themselves.”
Reviews
- Review 1: This is a bit of a 'spit and sawdust' sort of a place - not terribly smart and certainly not a modern 'plastic' pub. But it does seem to have a very enthusiastic and committed management. Great atmosphere, friendly patrons, with live music in one room plus a couple of other rooms available for those that like it a little quieter.
